It’s here – Fiestas de Santa Fe week is officially here!!! We walked downtown yesterday and meandered through the Arts & Crafts Show booths, picking up a couple of nice Christmas gifts.

Today’s Photo of the Day is one taken from my front porch at Heron Lake.
Sometimes being a blogger has it’s own perks. It keeps you on your toes. You watch for great post ideas. You take lots of pictures. You’re hyper aware of opportunities and events around you. And, of course, you get to hone your writing skills, something I need every day.
Few events grab the attention of a Santa Fe native like the burning of Zozobra. This annual event draws enormous crowds to Ft. Marcy Park on an evening in September, and if you’re considering becoming a local, this is the event NOT to miss.
Another morning walk photo – one of the best reasons to live here is because your morning walk will be filled with glimpses of beauty around every corner.
For all of you who spend time on the Santa Fe Plaza, be it a weekend afternoon or a Thursday night watching music on the Bandstand, you know that it’s beautiful, lush, and green.
And those hanging planters filled with luscious flowers! That’s a whole other post and photo of the day. . .
Last week I posted an old favorite recipe of mine – Chile Relleno Quiche. The response to that blog post was overwhelming. On my Facebook page along, over 89,000 folks saw the recipe.
Evidently we’re all in love with New Mexico’s infamous green chile and we’re searching for ways to use it.
I try to follow the idea of Meatless Monday as much as possible. According to the Meatless Monday site, going meatless for at least one day a week is good for your health, good for your pocketbook, and most of all, good for the planet.
In Santa Fe, we’re counting down the days to Indian Market. It’s always the biggest event in town. While the market itself only takes place on August 20 to 23, the events surrounding and leading up to it are beyond numerous.
