Santa Fe Hotel Cucumber Soup and Dining with the Artist Connie Tsosie Gaussoin

Sometimes being a blogger has it’s own perks. It keeps you on your toes. You watch for great post ideas. You take lots of pictures. You’re hyper aware of opportunities and events around you. And, of course, you get to hone your writing skills, something I need every day.

But sometimes, it has real rewards1-20150818_190730. A few weeks ago I received a call from Lawrence at Hotel Santa Fe. “I’m looking for a food blogger for something called I Love New Mexico.”

Well, I’m not a food blogger. I’m an everything-New-Mexican blogger. Food, family stories, sights, sites, events. . . if I’ve seen it or experienced it or tasted it, or if it’s about to happen in New Mexico, I try to write about it.

Lawrence from Hotel Santa Fe invited me to their August Dinner with the Artist at Amaya Restaurant. I got to bring a date. August’s artist was Connie Tsosie Gaussoin and her amazingly talented family. Unbeknownst to me, Hotel Santa Fe has a monthly event entitled Dining with the Artist. For $32 you get a three course meal at a community table – our table mates were delightful!

This event deserves an entirely separate post about how amazing the food was, the artist fashion show, everything. But for now, enjoy this Photo of the Day of the crazy delicious cucumber soup I enjoyed at Hotel Santa Fe during dinner. And mark your calendars for this month’s dinner with Albert Delamour on September 23rd. You can make reservations by calling the Hotel Santa Fe at 855-825-9876. Tell Lawrence that Bunny sent you!
