It’s here – Fiestas de Santa Fe week is officially here!!! We walked downtown yesterday and meandered through the Arts & Crafts Show booths, picking up a couple of nice Christmas gifts.
Few events grab the attention of a Santa Fe native like the burning of Zozobra. This annual event draws enormous crowds to Ft. Marcy Park on an evening in September, and if you’re considering becoming a local, this is the event NOT to miss.
Another morning walk photo – one of the best reasons to live here is because your morning walk will be filled with glimpses of beauty around every corner.
For all of you who spend time on the Santa Fe Plaza, be it a weekend afternoon or a Thursday night watching music on the Bandstand, you know that it’s beautiful, lush, and green.
And those hanging planters filled with luscious flowers! That’s a whole other post and photo of the day. . .
Last week I posted an old favorite recipe of mine – Chile Relleno Quiche. The response to that blog post was overwhelming. On my Facebook page along, over 89,000 folks saw the recipe.

In Santa Fe, we’re counting down the days to Indian Market. It’s always the biggest event in town. While the market itself only takes place on August 20 to 23, the events surrounding and leading up to it are beyond numerous.
I walk by IAIA’s Museum of Contemporary Native Arts almost every day. It’s just one more visual feast that Santa Fe offers. Across the street from the St. Francis Cathedral, it’s hand-painted portal posts are a favorite backdrop for engagement and wedding photographers.

I started eating at Santa Fe’s La Choza long ago, when I was a poor single mom living in Albuquerque. They opened in 1983, and I’m pretty sure I was going there in 1984.
We’re in the last day of the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market, and if you’ve ever wondered about this event, today’s the day to attend. I’ve been several times, and Sunday is by far my favorite day. Although it’s crowded, the throngs of people seem to thin out a tiny bit on Sunday.
