More Info: Best-selling author Douglas Preston will be signing his first children’s book, “Santa’s Dragon”, along with illustrator Raya Golden. Holiday refreshments will be available and Santa himself will stop by to read the book. Everyone who purchases a copy of the book during the event will be entered to win a 4-pack of tickets to an upcoming Sky Railway train adventure.

 

The Fall Orchestra Concert will also take place on Saturday, 7-9PM and Sunday 3-5PM at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Get your tickets fast before they sell out!

 

More info: Santa Fe Pro Musica continues its 40th Season’s Orchestra Series at the Lensic Performing Arts Center on November 6 and 7. Conductor Mei-Ann Chen will lead the Pro Musica Orchestra in a program of works for string orchestra by Reena Esmail, Haydn, and Tchaikovsky.

The concerts begin with Reena Esmail’s Teen Murti, three tableaux that blend elements of Indian and Western musical cultures. Violinist Bella Hristova then performs Haydn’s effervescent Violin Concerto in C Major, and the performances conclude with Tchaikovsky’s romantic String Serenade in C Major.

An immersive series that allows audience members to explore the ideas and concepts around personal movement improvisation, THE MOVE LAB offers an intimate look into the personal practice of developing an expressive movement language.

During this hour-long event, audience members will be invited to participate in a 20-minute movement improvisation class to explore their own movement language. All ages and levels

of experience are welcome. Following the movement exploration, participants will be treated to a live performance by local professional dance artists as they navigate space, time, and physicality together in a 30-minute improvisation. Advanced tickets are encouraged as there is limited space and availability.
