Gates. Walk around a Santa Fe neighborhood and you’ll find a wide variety of gates. Custom made metal, hand-carved wood, something someone’s Grandpa made 70 years ago.

They’re unique, pretty, funky. And I like to shoot photos of every one I see. Here’s one I saw the other day off of Closson and Alto Street.

Keep your eyes open out there. Santa Fe architecture is unlike anywhere else in the world. The gates are just another piece of that ubiquitous Santa Fe individuality.
