New Mexico Travel Restrictions Easing

Here in New Mexico, and especially in Santa Fe, our COVID numbers have been dropping more and more. Is it time to come visit us here in Santa Fe? Here are some things to consider before planning a safe visit:

  1. Travel restrictions are easing throughout the state

If you’ve been keeping up with the shutdowns around the state, you’ll know that New Mexico has had a mandatory “14 day quarantine” in place for travelers during most of the pandemic. This has definitely paid off in the fact that our cases are down across the state. As of last week, this quarantine mandate has been lifted for travel from most states.

2. Ski season is still booming here and you can enjoy it safely

Most of our eight ski resorts are open and operating for the season, and we have been getting some great snow this past week! Check out these resorts for more details; Angel Fire Resort, Pajarito Mountain, Red River Ski & Summer Area, Sipapu Ski & Summer Area, Ski Santa Fe, Ski Apache, Sandia Peak Ski, Taos Ski Valley.

3. Indoor dining is back in many counties

Most restaurants in New Mexico have been restricted to outdoor dining only for the last few months. You can imagine this is not the most enjoyable in the dead of winter! However, in the last couple of weeks several counties, including Santa Fe, have opened for for indoor dining at 25% capacity. Check out some of our great local restaurants next time you’re in town. You can still eat out on the patio or order take-out if you want to be extra cautious. Either way don’t forget your masks!
