Overview:
Holy Ghost Creek (Trail 283) is a 5 mile out and back trail located east of Torrero, N.M. off F.R. 122 at the end of Holy Ghost Campground. The Trail is rated as moderate (some strenuous parts, especially if you are not in great shape). Good trail to get you to the lake country for Backpacking too.
Trail Information:
Dirt trail that crosses a stream several times and have several switchbacks.
Directions:
From Pecos, N.M. take HWY 63 about 13.5 miles and Turn left onto F.R. 122. You will see an old white bridge on left and the Tererro Store up ahead. This is a narrow road, so drive smart. I am guessing it is about 4 miles to the Campground area. Park outside of the campground (free this way). Follow the pavement to the end of the campground and you should see the trail head.
