First and foremost, you have to start the day right with a hot cup of coffee and delicious breakfast at Cafe Pasquals. This has continually been one of Santa Fe’s top breakfast spots.  Its eclectic and warm atmosphere is sure to please. You can go sweet with Maga’s cheese blintzes or spice things up with a chorizo breakfast burrito.Handmade Tortillas

From Pasquals,  it’s an easy to walk to many boutiques full of the latest fashions, fine jewelry, and exquisite accessories…..You can spend hours perusing the stores and shopping to your heart’s content. Lucchese on the plaza is always a fun place to try on boots and other fabulous things. If your feet need a rest, you can take a break on the Plaza, taking in the sights and sounds of The palace of the Governors featuring authentic Native American jewelry, and people-watch from a bench….you will see people from all over the world.

By now, you’ll be ready for lunch at The Plaza Cafe — an iconic Santa Fe establishment opened in 1905 by the Ipiotis brothers, originally from Greece. From here, you can take in the views of the plaza and enjoy delicious food such as the Greek Salad or a New Mexican specialty such as the stuffed sopaipilla.

After lunch you can take a short walk from the Plaza down Johnson Street to the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum where you can enjoy the beautiful art of this iconic artist and learn more about her life. There is a wonderful new exhibit that has debuted this spring.

After being inspired by the amazing art of O’Keeffe, you can drive a short distance to The Santa Fe Botanical Garden to view the beauty of the Southwest landscape……see this desert landscape come alive and enjoy nature in all its glory.

As the day fades into evening dinner at the quaint and historic Santacafé is always a delight. Nestled in a historic 19th century abode, Santacafé specializes in serving unique American cuisine with a southwestern flair. The restaurant has four candlelit dining rooms complete with corner fireplaces and charming ceilings.

Santa Fe is often described as The City Different. After a day exploring and enjoying the city you will know why. It’s a city where dreams come true and memories are made. Take a day and experience all that is Santa Fe and strengthen your mother-daughter bond.
