    Property Description

There ain't been a prime property like this for sale in Cerillos since the dust settled, but if you've been sifting through the listings, looking for your golden nugget, you may have just struck pay dirt.Right in the heart of the old mining town of Cerrillos, this storied adobe storefront has worn a lotta hats over the years. Starting out as the local grocery--where cowboys, miners, and townfolk came to swap dollars for beans and bacon. Later on, a pool table rolled in and the place echoed with the clack of cue balls and tall tales. A jewelry studio and showroom, a photography gallery, and most recently, a private home, each chapter written into the walls, sunbaked and full of soul.Set on a generous lot (multiple lots of record, actually) shaded by mature trees, there's manicured space to stretch your legs or kick up a little dust. The yard's the kind that invites projects in the outbuildings, barbecues, stargazing, or just sittin' still while the wind tells you stories. And when you're ready for some neighborly mischief, you're within stumbling distance of the Blackbird Saloon and Mary's Bar--where the beer's cold, the locals are, well, local. The property stretches across the whole block and the back yard peeks onto Main Street from behind a mural of some cool mules. As an owner here, you'll enjoy front row seats for the annual mule race! With propane for cookin', and 3 high end wood stoves for heat, you'll be comfortable living between quiet and remarkably efficient adobe walls and a pitched metal roof- the Northern New Mexican one-two punch! The charm abounds, pride in ownership shines throughout, and the costly remodels are done, and done right. Top of the heap, location wise, the "Traditional Community" zoning allows for more than you'll get in town. This is a place where you can live, work, and dream--all under one rustically enchanting roof. Whether you're a maker, a host, an artist, or just someone with a hankerin' for the real New Mexico, this is as rare a find as hen's teeth.Don't let this one ride off into the sunset without you.

    Neighborhood Info

    Cerrillos & Madrid

Once home to the large mining community, Madrid is now a sleepy little town of artists. With an ice cream parlour and old fashioned businesses, Madrid feels other-worldly to visitors. Homes here are early 20th century wooden structures painted a variety of colors. Just north of Madrid is Cerrillos, a traditional New Mexico village of older adobes and quaint shops.

    Turquoise Trail | HWY 14

Explore and then live on the Turquoise Trail, aka South Highway 14. This is the “back way” from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, and is a beautiful way to travel the less beaten path.  Most lots come with acreage of at least an acre, and many with more. The wide open spaces have less building restrictions than you’ll find in the City of Santa Fe, and horses are generally welcome.

    Santa Fe County Southwest

This rapidly growing area with plans for expansion extending into the 2050’s is largely made up of rolling hills dotted with pinon and juniper. Most of the communities located here have extraordinary views of the Jemez, the Sangres and the Sandias.
