The outstanding features here are the views. The land sits on a gently sloping hillside over looking the El Rito Creek with expansive Abiquiu landscape all around, including Sierra Negra, El Pedernal and the Jemez Mountains. The electric is buried in this area so as not to mar this lovely feature. This is an HOA protected unit, Prado Valley. Fees are low for road maintenance. No mobile homes are allowed and the minimum lot is 10 acres. The construction requirements are not onerous and the neighborhood boasts some lovely architecture. Espanola is about 15 minutes away, Santa Fe and Los Alamos about 50 minutes. This is the gateway to the best outdoor activities in the state with three big lakes close by, the Ghost Ranch, trout streams, and numerous wilderness areas.
“It is not a country of light on things -it is a country of things in light.”
Georgia O’Keeffe
About 60 miles north of Santa Fe, Abiquiu and surrounding communities of El Rito, Gallina, Ojo Caliente and Chama to the north are some of the most beautiful landscapes New Mexico has to offer.
